Diddy Arrested After Grand Jury Indictment Following Multiple Sexual Abuse Allegations
Sean “Diddy” Combs, the legendary hip-hop mogul and Bad Boy Records founder, was arrested in Manhattan on Monday after a grand jury formally indicted him. This arrest comes on the heels of a federal investigation by the Southern District of New York, which followed several high-profile raids on his properties earlier this year.
Federal authorities executed search warrants in March, targeting Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing probe into sexual abuse and trafficking allegations.
Diddy’s arrest is the latest development in a series of accusations leveled against him, beginning last November when his former girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a bombshell lawsuit alleging sex trafficking and abuse.
Several women and one man have since come forward with lawsuits accusing Combs of sexual assault and trafficking, sparking widespread media attention and prompting the federal investigation.
The investigation, which is centered on sex trafficking and racketeering, reportedly led to the grand jury indictment. Sources say the grand jury had been hearing evidence on the case since early July.
Combs’ legal team, however, is strongly pushing back. His attorney, Aaron Dyer, slammed the recent developments, calling the raids “a gross overuse of military-level force” and dismissing the allegations as baseless. Fellow attorney Marc Agnifilo also issued a passionate statement, defending Diddy’s character and urging the public to withhold judgment until the facts are clear.
“We are extremely disappointed by the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo told Rolling Stone. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is not only a music icon and self-made entrepreneur, but a devoted father and philanthropist who has dedicated much of his life to uplifting the Black community. He may not be perfect, but he is not a criminal. Throughout this investigation, Mr. Combs has remained fully cooperative, even voluntarily relocating to New York in anticipation of these charges. We ask that everyone wait until the facts come out, as we are confident that he will be cleared of these accusations in court.”
Despite the defense’s strong response, the case has only intensified with more alleged victims stepping forward. The high-profile nature of the accusations, combined with Combs’ status as a music and business titan, has kept this story at the forefront of entertainment news. While Diddy awaits his day in court, the legal and public battles surrounding his legacy continue to unfold.
